Consulting Architect

Remote with Travel, Washington D.C. · Information Technology

Location: Washington D.C. Area

Remote with a travel expectation of 50% for onsite visits

 Clearance Required: Active DoD Secret or higher clearance / US Citizen willing to obtain a DoD clearance

 

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in hands on solution design, integrating both technical and business concepts, and present a transformational journey to project stakeholders.
  • Carry activities such as: technical contribution and guidance in project planning, lead in high level and low-level design, solution validation, impact analysis of change requests, etc.
  • Leverage technical skillset and help to quickly build trustworthy relationship with customer in pre-sales stages through technical workshops, RFX responses, PS solution customization, scoping exercises and LOE estimation etc.
  • Drive efficiency in delivery model.
  • Assist with refinement and optimization of customer lifecycle and VMware Telco Cloud portfolio.
  • Provide valuable insight to our product teams.

 

Required Skills:

  • Strong client facing experience as a Consulting Architect or Solutions Engineer focused on VMware solutions
  • 5 years' experience in architecting and designing data center automation and network function virtualization private cloud solutions.
  • Working experience with VMware Cloud Infrastructure – vSphere, ESXi, NSX-T, vCD, etc
  • Deep understanding of the telecommunications market, NFV/SDN context, standards, technology and use cases
  • Holds VMware certifications
  • Cisco CCNA/CCNP or equivalent certification
  • Hands on familiarity with scripting using Python and troubleshooting approaches
  • Knowledge of cloud native application concepts
 

Preferred Skills:

  • Holds more than one VMware Advanced Professional certification or TOGAF certified
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Cloud Native technologies
